Our first Adventure in our new Casita

We left the Casita factory with our new travel trailer and camped at a nearby campground to be sure everything worked. We then headed to Houston to see our sons, daughters-in-law, and our wonderful granddaughter. After we had a great time seeing the family we headed west. Stayed in Fredericksburg for a couple of days then headed to Big Bend National Park.

Allen and I was excited to see Big Bend since neither one of us had been there.  Driving across Texas and in remote areas with a new travel trailer was quite new to us.  We finally arrived at the entrance station and received a map.  We then visited the Persimmon Gap Visitor Center and decided which direction to go for our campground in the Rio Grande Village area.

Park Entrance

From the entrance to the Rio Grande Village RV Park campground was about a 45-mile drive.  The RV park has full hookups, laundry, restroom bath facility, store, and gas pumps.  The area to camp in was like a small parking lot for your RV and vehicle.  Even though the area is small it was very nice.

We had a great time in Big Bend and will be returning for another visit in the future. Headed toward home we made an overnight stay in Santa Fe, New Mexico.  We look forward to returning for a longer visit.
